Job summary

Reworld Waste in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Auxiliary Operator to join the facility control room and safely operate power plant systems as part of our industrial disposal process.

You will monitor boilers and auxiliary equipment, perform sampling and chemistry testing, operate heavy equipment, and help maintain proper refuse-fuel levels; rotating 12-hour shifts with overtime during outages. Benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years’ experience operating a boiler, heavy industrial equipment, some maintenance.
• Experience with chemistry testing a plus.
• Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Operate and inspect power plant systems in accordance with safety operating procedures; systems include boilers, air pollution control systems, ash systems, and heavy industrial equipment.
• Monitor and inspect boiler plant auxiliary equipment, including pumps, motors, fans, dampers, air compressors, valves, mixers, conveyors, turbine generators and electrical devices.
• Read and interpret data from meters, gauges, and industrial measuring tools to identify trends and/or potential equipment disruptions that impact facility operations.
• Monitor air pollution control equipment.
• Perform various types of material sampling, chemistry testing, and treatment of water, as required.
• Safely operate heavy industrial mobile equipment, such as cranes, skid steers, loaders, and forklifts.
• Responsible for maintaining correct levels of refuse‑fuel in operations equipment, and ensure appropriate refuse mix in designated pits and areas of operations.
• Additional duties as assigned to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
