Job summary

Mytra is hiring an Automation Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team at our Brisbane, CA headquarters. You will design, integrate, and debug safety- and mission-critical systems using off-the-shelf industrial hardware while shaping our future embedded hardware/software roadmap.

You will collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software groups to deliver robust, diagnosable solutions and scalable control architectures for site deployments, with travel of 0–10% domestically.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing, commissioning, and troubleshooting industrial control systems.
• Experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT/TwinSAFE, Siemens controllers and Siemens Safety.
• Experience designing electrical control panels with ePLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Strong understanding of distributed I/O, safety devices, sensors, actuators.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PLC-based control and safety systems, including distributed I/O and interfaces to automation equipment.
• Design high- and low-voltage electrical panels and control cabinets using ePLAN or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Mechanical, Firmware, and Software teams on interfaces and features.
• Develop service and commissioning tools and scalable control architectures for site deployments.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical systems across electrical, controls, embedded, networking, and software areas.
• Support system integration, commissioning, testing, and root-cause investigations at Mytra facilities and customer sites.
