Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to support the Ste Genevieve Plant, leveraging existing automation systems to drive data-driven decisions for safety, quality and production efficiency.

The role liaises between site management, division and corporate automation teams, and requires strong PLC/HMI programming, equipment maintenance, and project oversight to maintain reliable plant operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation.
Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field or demonstrated skills/experience.
3+ years in electrical system design, operations and maintenance in industrial/mining background.
5+ years in Automation, electrical system design, operations, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Design and implement improvements in controls and automation equipment.
Upgrade automation and implement division/corporate process control standards.
Coordinate and oversee plant Automation projects and electrical installations.
Calibrate and maintain field devices (weigh belts, gas analyzers, sensors) and tune control loops.
Provide technical assistance to plant personnel solving control/process problems.
