Job summary

The Lhoist North America Ste Genevieve Plant seeks an experienced Automation/Controls Engineer to support site operations and collaborate with automation teams to improve production efficiency, safety, and quality.

You will design, program, and maintain electrical systems, lead automation upgrades, calibrate field devices, and train staff while partnering with capital programs and corporate IT for data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation or related technical field or equivalent work experience.
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or Computer Science.

Responsibilities

Design and implement improvements in Controls and Automation equipment.
Lead automation upgrades and enforce division/corporate control standards.
Coordinate and oversee plant Automation projects.
Design, program, specify, purchase and oversee installation of electrical systems.
Program and document automated equipment including control loops, state machines, and sequencers.
Calibrate field devices and tune control loops; maintain records of changes.
Provide technical assistance using SPC, SQL, Historian and other tools.
Train and upskill electricians and other team members.
