Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking an Automation Engineer to develop, maintain and support process network and control systems for the Apex Plant and other sites. The role troubleshoots instrumentation, process control and network system issues and provides data engineering support from acquisition to MES reporting.

The ideal candidate will program and configure PLCs, HMIs and automation hardware, manage engineering data, and drive plant upgrades with Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years’ industrial experience in process controls/automation system design, operation and maintenance.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and industrial networking in a plant environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Automation or related engineering field, with automation emphasis.

Responsibilities

• Support Process Control and Automation Systems at plant sites.
• Program and maintain PLCs, HMIs, and related automation hardware.
• Manage data acquisition, cleaning, transformation, storage and reporting.
• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to resolve issues and implement improvements.
