Job summary

Lhoist North America is seeking an experienced Controls and Automation Engineer to support the Ste Genevieve Plant using existing automation systems and provide technical support required by the plant. You will act as the liaison between site management and corporate automation teams to leverage automation technologies for data-driven decisions, enhancing production efficiency, safety and quality.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation.
Experience in electrical system design, operations, and maintenance in an industrial/manufacturing/mining environment (3+ years).
Strong PLC/automation experience, with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley proficiency and HMIs.

Responsibilities

Design and implement improvements in controls and automation equipment with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations teams.
Lead automation upgrades and enforce division/corporate process control standards.
Coordinate and oversee plant automation projects and electrical system installations.
Calibrate field devices and tune control loops; maintain documentation of changes and SOPs.
Provide technical assistance using SPC, SQL, and historian tools; collaborate with automation teams.
Train and upskill electricians and other plant personnel; promote proactive asset management.
