Job summary
CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join CBRE Global Workplace Solutions.
The role focuses on controls and maintenance of automated material handling equipment, promoting safety and reliability across client operations. You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers (Allen-Bradley Controllogix/CompactLogix, RSLogix 5000) and monitor industrial networks, contributing to continuous improvement and timely project delivery.
Qualifications
- Must be able to troubleshoot complex control systems.
- Experience with maintenance and reliability improvements.
Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment by complying with codes and company directives.
- Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC controllers).
- Act as first level escalation for troubleshooting on-site and remotely, including after-hours support.
- Inspect systems to ensure operation within design capabilities.
- Oversee external contractors for upgrades and maintenance.
- Engineer process solutions and reliability improvements from concept to implementation.
- Monitor Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus, AS-I networks and motor control systems.
- Communicate with stakeholders on issues, timelines, and impacts.
- Analyze failures to recommend improvements or retraining.
- Perform system controls assessments to improve reliability.
