Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking an Automation Engineer to join the Global Workplace Solutions team. You will support automated material handling equipment, troubleshoot controls software, and drive reliability improvements across conveyors, scanners, printers, and SCADA systems.

You will work with a team of controls and maintenance professionals to maximize equipment uptime and operational performance, while coordinating with site operations and external contractors as needed.

Qualifications

Proficient in PLC/PC controller-based automation
Experience with Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems
Experience programming with RSLogix5000 and related software

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and modify software for material handling control systems (PLC/PC)
Act as first-level escalation for on-site and remote troubleshooting
Inspect systems to ensure operation within design specs and client requirements
Coordinate development, work requests, scheduling, and inspection with outside contractors
Engineer process improvements and reliability enhancements from concept to implementation
Monitor industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus) and motor control systems
Communicate status, timelines, and impacts to leadership and maintenance teams
Support analysis of failures and implement retraining to prevent incidents
Perform system assessments to maintain and improve equipment reliability
Foster positive relationships with clients and site operations
