Job summary

Viking Group, Inc. is seeking a proactive account manager to handle full-service order management in a fast-paced industrial distribution environment.

You will coordinate orders, quotes, returns, and credits while collaborating with sales, credit, inventory control, and warehousing to meet customer needs. The role emphasizes product knowledge to facilitate the order process, promotes add-on sales at order, and maintains strong customer and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Receives, processes and coordinates orders, requests for quotation, returns, and credits per company policies.
• Works with sales, credit, inventory control, warehousing and other departments to support customer needs.
• Maintains customer relationships and communicates order status effectively.

Responsibilities

• Receives, processes and coordinates orders, requests for quotation, returns, and credits in a manner consistent with company policies and standards.
• Works with sales, credit, inventory control, warehousing personnel, fabrication shop and other various departments to facilitate the needs of the customer.
• Minimizes the number of shipments while minimizing expenses incurred to meet the delivery requirements of the customer.
• Investigates order entry, shipping, and billing errors and coordinates solutions with the appropriate departments by taking ownership of the situation.
• Understands the technical aspects of products and services to a degree that effectively facilitates the order process.
• Increase sales by emphasizing promotions and add on sales at the point of order through product knowledge and opportunity recognition.
• Follows up with customers to ensure they are kept informed of the status of their request.
• Cultivates and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers with regard to service.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Completes training curriculum while demonstrating an acceptable level of competence as defined by management.
