Expedia Group is seeking a Director of Indirect Tax Operations & Controversy to lead day-to-day compliance, data integrity, and controversy management across the U.S. and international markets.

You will partner with finance, legal, product, and engineering to design scalable tax processes and defensible audits. This role requires deep experience in multi-jurisdiction indirect taxes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence without formal authority.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12–14+ years in indirect tax, tax operations, tax controversy, or related tax tech.
• Experience with U.S. state/local indirect taxes and international VAT/GST.
• Leadership of complex compliance across multiple jurisdictions and data sources.
• Experience leading tax audits or controversy matters.
• Ability to translate tax requirements into practical processes and tech solutions.
• CPA/CA or related credential preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day U.S. and international indirect tax compliance across jurisdictions.
• Develop scalable processes, calendars, controls, and reporting.
• Lead controversy for global indirect tax matters including audits.
