Job summary

The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) seeks an experienced Health Tech (Opticians) to support operations in the Durham VA Medical Center optical shops. The role coordinates optical operations and serves as a key liaison between VCS, eye clinic providers and prosthetics teams to enhance Veteran service.

Minimum one year of Optician experience required. Independent work capability, prescription interpretation, optical verification and QA, and proficiency with ophthalmic equipment are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience working as an Optician.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high patient service standards.
• Proficient in prescription interpretation and problem resolution.
• Skilled in optical verification and quality assurance processes.
• Current REAL ID required to work for Veterans Canteen Service.
