Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is seeking an experienced Health Tech (Optician) to support operations in VCS Optical Shops at the Lake Baldwin - Lake Nona - Daytona - FL Location VA Medical. The role coordinates optical operations and serves as a liaison between eye clinic providers and prosthetics teams to deliver exceptional service for Veterans.

Formación

• Minimum of one year of experience as an Optician.
• Ability to work independently while managing responsibilities and maintaining patient service.
• Ability to identify prescription discrepancies and take corrective action.
• Skilled in identifying and resolving optical issues including verification and alignment.

Responsabilidades

• Greet customers and assist with frame selection, pricing, options and timelines.
• Maintain a professional, welcoming environment and support patient eyewear decisions.
• Perform eyewear fittings and measurements using digital pupilometers and lensometers.
• Document patient information and measurements in CPRS.
• Process eyewear orders, collect payments, and enter orders into VA systems.
• Promote lens options and upgrades with a consultative approach.
• Coordinate with eye clinics, labs, prosthetics staff, and vendors to resolve order issues.
• Address customer concerns professionally and escalate complex problems when needed.
• Maintain eyewear displays, and assist with inventory and fixed assets.
