Job summary

Becoming Independent is seeking a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) for its Living Services program. The DSP I will provide 1:1 personal attendant support in home and community settings, assisting with personal care, daily living skills, and community participation.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support individuals toward independent living.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities desirable.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction, assistance, and supervision in skills essential for independent living.
• Attend, engage in team meetings and trainings; complete monthly trainings on schedule.
• Record data and complete daily notes; manage time and attendance records.
• Develop and maintain relationships with persons served, family, staff, and community.
• Transport individuals to activities/appointments; ensure safety in vehicles.
