Job summary

Becoming-Independent in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Direct Support Professional I (DSP I) in Living Services. The DSP I provides one-to-one support in home/community settings, assisting with personal care, daily living tasks, and participation in chosen activities to foster independence.

The role requires documenting tasks, coordinating with the team, and maintaining safety in transport and routines. Strong communication in English and reliability are essential for this non-exempt position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience with intellectual/developmental disabilities desirable.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Works 1:1 with individuals in home/community environment (direct supervision & support).
• Supervise and assist with personal health and hygiene, including grooming, bathing, toileting, and attire.
• Assist with personal care needs including health, hygiene, household maintenance, healthy eating, appointments, and procedures including medication, finances, and shopping.
• Attend, engage, and participate in team meetings & trainings.
• Complete monthly trainings on schedule within the provided timeframe.
• Record data relative to tasks using BI/ Therap/EVV/ISP/ADP/TripLog systems.
• Maintain daily punches and review timecards; submit daily notes within 24 hours of service.
• Check company email and respond within 24 hours; manage calendar and schedule.
