Job summary

AbleLight is seeking a SLS Instructor to provide one-on-one instruction, training, and advocacy to help individuals achieve maximum independence and successful community integration. Instructors build strong relationships and act as liaisons for the individuals supported.

The role emphasizes developing personal skills across employment, communication, mobility, education, money management, and self-advocacy, while prioritizing safety and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Direct supervision experience with individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret general regulations.
• Ability to write legible notes relating to goals/objectives.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and training on employment preparation, communication, mobility, education, and daily living skills.
• Support individuals in accessing community resources and public transportation.
• Assist with health, nutrition, and personal care activities while ensuring safety and dignity.
