Job summary

County Of Maui seeks an Emergency Management Specialist to perform journey-level duties in planning, documentation, and coordination for disasters. The role requires developing and maintaining emergency plans, and coordinating with multiple agencies to improve preparedness and response across the County.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2.5 years in emergency management or related field.
• Knowledge of national and state emergency management regulations and best practices.
• Ability to develop, review, and maintain emergency management documentation.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, develops and maintains plans and procedures for emergency response and disaster operations.
• Suggests policies or actions to address gaps in disaster preparedness and response.
• Ensures documentation reflects a whole-community approach to emergency management.
• Develops and maintains agency-level documentation including continuity of operations.
• Participates in stakeholder engagement across County, State, Federal, NGO, and private sectors.
