Job summary

Pender County Government seeks a Caseworker to determine initial eligibility for Income Maintenance programs, including Medicaid and Marketplace. You will interview clients, collect information, verify data, and establish eligibility, maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities include presenting information at hearings, assisting with emergencies, and coordinating with community programs. A Bachelor's degree or related experience is required, with bilingual Spanish encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human services, business, or communication.
• 1 year of direct client contact as a caseworker may substitute education.
• Experience with NC FAST is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview clients to obtain required information and complete initial applications.
• Determine eligibility for Medicaid, Low Income Subsidy, and Marketplace programs.
• Process applications, verify information, and maintain case records.
• Explain program requirements and refer clients to other services as needed.
• Prepare and present information at local and state hearings.
