Job summary

Crandall Independent School District seeks a dedicated special education teacher to provide learning activities and experiences designed to help students reach their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned to IEP goals.

You will collaborate with ARD committees, work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacity, and support students with diverse needs through adaptive instruction and ongoing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements.
• Experience with ARD/IEP processes and goal setting.
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for students with special needs.
• Strong communication skills with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans for in-person, distance, and virtual learning with accommodations.
• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD for each student.
• Implement instructional programs and show evidence of preparation.
• Assess student learning styles and adapt strategies, materials, and equipment accordingly.
• Present subject matter per IEP guidelines using various instructional techniques and media.
• Modify regular curricula and assist special education and/or at-risk students in regular classes.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Participate in selection of books, equipment, and instructional media.
