Job summary

The candidate will collaborate with ARD committees, implement IEP-driven programs, and coordinate with regular teachers to modify curricula.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required special education endorsements for assignments.
• Teaching certification held in multiple areas is preferred.
• Teachers must obtain ESL Certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and ARD Committee to develop IEPs for each student assigned.
• Implement instructional, therapeutic, or skill development programs and document preparation.
• Plan and use instructional strategies reflecting learning styles and student needs.
• Assist regular classroom teachers with modifications to curricula and inclusion of students with disabilities.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings on a regular basis.
• Conduct assessments of student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Present subject matter according to IEP guidelines.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
• Use technology in the teaching/learning process.
