Job summary

Town of Cary is seeking a Program Assistant II to support Specialized Recreation & Inclusion Services. This part-time, non-benefited, year-round role covers up to 20 hours weekly with daytime shifts (9AM–5PM) and some evenings/weekends.

You will assist in planning and leading programs, ensure accessibility, and promote inclusive community activities for all ages and abilities. Requirements include an associate degree in a related field, experience with persons with disabilities, and CPR/First

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate degree with major coursework in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
• Prior experience with persons with disabilities preferred.
• Requires CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist and lead specialized recreation programs and events.
• Supervise and support participants with disabilities in camp or program settings.
• Provide excellent customer service to participants, parents, and vendors.
• Engage participants, monitor safety, and address behavior concerns.
• Assist in program planning, setup, takedown, and evaluation.
