Job summary

Ledyard Middle School seeks a Resource Paraeducator to support students in classroom activities and learning goals. Under supervision, you will reinforce reading, math, and language arts, and help with instructional materials and assessments.

This role emphasizes inclusion, safety, and student welfare. The position involves assisting in various settings, including lunchtime and bus duties, with a focus on encouraging participation and academic growth for students with diverse needs.

Qualifications

• Two years of college credit (60) or an associate's degree or evidence of Para Pro Assessment.
• Experience working with students in inclusive/small group settings preferred.
• Experience with special needs students preferred.
• Willingness to be trained to assist instructional and behavioral needs of students.
• Works in standard office and school environments; may assist outdoors during activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist and reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, and computer instruction.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist staff with classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and strategies for individual needs.
