Job summary

Ledyard High School seeks a Paraeducator for the SES program to support students under the supervision of a certified staff member. You will assist with classroom instruction and with various support tasks to help meet instructional goals.

Responsibilities include individual and small-group support, assisting with assessments, and helping maintain a safe, structured learning environment. The role requires flexible support across non-instructive duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in serving the needs of students and ability to operate within the program philosophy.
• Ability to engage students, work well in small groups and follow teacher instructions.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of individuals.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff and others.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with students with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, computer instruction and other skills.
• Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning.
• Assist professionals with administration and correction of exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare and reinforce instructional materials according to student needs.
• Document student learning and performance through records.
