Job summary

Eastern Carolina Vocational Center (ECVC) is seeking an Employment Specialist to help individuals with disabilities find and sustain meaningful jobs. The role involves client intake, case management, and active engagement with local employers to create employment opportunities.

You will support clients with resumes, applications, and interview coaching, while coordinating with EIPD counselors. The position requires an associate degree (bachelor's preferred) and 1–2 years of related experience.

Qualifications

Excellent communication and writing skills to prepare detailed reports and communicate with clients and employers.
Ability to negotiate and build partnerships with local businesses for job opportunities.
Ability to present information clearly to diverse stakeholders.
Experience in case management or employment services is preferred.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when needed.

Responsibilities

Conduct intake interviews and assess client backgrounds, work history, strengths and barriers.
Develop employment plans aligned with client abilities and interests.
Maintain accurate records of client progress, employer feedback, and outcomes.
Attend required meetings to support clients and placements.
Identify job opportunities and engage local employers to create employment options.
Assist clients with applications, resumes and interview preparation; market client skills to employers.
