Job summary

Target Community Educational Services, Inc. seeks an Employment Specialist to create employment opportunities for participants using person-centered career exploration, assessment, and job development approaches.

The role includes coaching and performance evaluation to help participants obtain and maintain competitive integrated employment. The position emphasizes collaboration with employers, coordination of documentation, and ongoing support to participants as part of Meaningful Day Services.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree and two years of experience working with people with disabilities and/or the business community preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with new and existing participants seeking employment to develop and implement the job development plan.
• Perform community job development to create paid opportunities within the region to meet program requirements.
• Facilitate communication between participants, employers, and coworkers in line with current policies.
• Ensure Maryland mandated documentation is completed accurately in current systems (CIMS) and submitted timely.
• Support participants in achieving Service Implementation Plan goals and collect data in CIMS.
• Conduct job analysis/career assessments and assist with interviewing and application skills.
• Develop relationships with volunteers and community sites; monitor site performance and follow-ups.
• Provide on-site training to Employment Consultants and DSPs when participants start new employment.
