Job summary

Easterseals Capital Region & Eastern CT in Windsor, CT seeks a Career Development Specialist to deliver individualized and group services, develop curricula, and support employment and education outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities include job coaching, assessments, resume help, employer relationships, program compliance, and collaboration with counselors and other teams in a person-centered approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Services or related field.
• High school diploma with 3 years’ workforce development experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Knowledge of disabilities; advocate for individuals with disabilities.
• Ability to work independently with clients and employers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with counselors, case managers, and stakeholders.
• Meet with individuals to identify needs and develop career goals.
• Set up job exploration activities and working interviews.
• Assist clients with resumes, applications, and job search skills.
• Develop relationships with new employer partners.
• Provide on-the-job training and job coaching.
• Coordinate case management to ensure successful outcomes.
• Maintain knowledge of policies, procedures and accreditation standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
