Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a dedicated Employment Specialist/Job Coach to empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to find meaningful community-based employment in Wilmington, NC. You will build connections with employers, develop resumes, accompany individuals to interviews, document progress, and coordinate with families and case managers.

This role requires travel in the Wilmington area and a valid NC driver’s license, with a commitment to ongoing professional

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willing to travel within the assigned territory.
• Reliable transportation for program delivery area.

Responsibilities

• Create connections with community employers to identify and create job opportunities.
• Develop resumes, prepare individuals for job interviews, and accompany to interviews.
• Communicate with each person assigned to the caseload at least weekly and document it.
• Conduct primary job development activities for the program.
• Maintain case records as required by licensing and funding bodies; document in the EMR within 24 hours of service.
• Coordinate communication with families, case managers, and other agencies.
• Provide job development and intensive training activities as per the approved service/work plan.
• Accompany individuals to community-based employment sites for on-the-job training as needed.
• Analyze job duties and complete job task analyses as needed.
