Placements24 seeks a Special Needs Education Assistant to support students with diverse learning requirements in a Welkom mainstream school. You will work with teachers and specialists to implement IEPs, provide one-on-one support, and foster an inclusive environment.

The role combines on-site collaboration with remote planning tasks, offering flexibility while ensuring continued in-person engagement and student well-being.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification or certification in Special Needs Education or a related field.
• Experience working with children with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of learning disabilities and effective support strategies.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work flexibly between on-site and remote duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct academic and behavioral support to students with special educational needs, both individually and in small groups.
• Assist the classroom teacher in implementing IEPs and differentiated instruction strategies.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the specific needs of students.
• Foster a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that promotes inclusivity and student confidence.
• Monitor student progress, document observations, and communicate with teachers, parents, and support staff.
