Job summary

Bend-La Pine Schools in Bend, Oregon is seeking an Educational Assistant – Inclusion to support students with special needs in classrooms and resource centers under the supervision of a special education teacher.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs, small group and one-on-one instruction, communicating with teachers and parents, preparing instructional materials, and supervising students during recess and lunch while promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of related college education, an AA degree, or passing the Paraprofessional Assessment Exam with a score of 455 or higher.
• Demonstrated ability to work with students with disabilities and to implement instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Assist special education staff in preparation, implementation, and evaluation of instructional programs.
• Communicate with teachers and parents on student progress.
• Assist with record keeping to monitor student progress.
• Assist students in understanding instructional concepts and provide additional practice.
• Supervise students during recess, lunch, and before/after school.
• Prepare instructional materials and operate instructional equipment.
