Job summary

Bend-La Pine Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant – Student Instruction to support classroom teachers and supervise students in and out of instruction. The role involves assisting with instructional materials, supporting student understanding, and helping with lesson plans under supervision.

Ideal candidates will have at least two years of college or an AA degree and meet Highly Qualified requirements.

Qualifications

• Two years of related college education or an AA degree.
• Knowledge of technical procedures and district practices.
• Passing Paraprofessional Assessment Exam with a score of 455 or higher to meet Highly Qualified requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of instructional materials using duplicating or AV equipment.
• Assist students in understanding instructional concepts and reemphasize basics.
• Assist teachers with implementing lesson plans and correcting student work.
• Keep records and charts of student progress; supervise students inside and outside the classroom.
• Supervise recess, lunch, and after-school activities to maintain a calm, disciplined environment.
• Perform routine clerical tasks and participate in meetings to improve skills.
