Job summary

Hartman Family YMCA in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Childwatch Attendant to supervise infants through age 12 during temporary childcare. You will welcome families, lead age-appropriate activities, and help create a welcoming, inclusive environment for children of all abilities.

You will follow safety policies, communicate clearly with caregivers, and document attendance and incidents. This role emphasizes compassion, patience, and teamwork with staff and families to ensure every child feels

Qualifications

Must be 16 years of age and with at least 6 months of childcare experience preferred.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Child Abuse Prevention training and certifications required before the first shift.
CPR, First Aid, AED certifications required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Welcome children and families in a warm, respectful, and inclusive manner.
Provide supervision and age-appropriate activities for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
Plan and lead activities (games, stories, crafts, circle time, events) suitable for varying abilities.
Build positive relationships with children and families to make them feel safe and included.
Follow safety policies, supervision guidelines, and emergency procedures; report hazards or incidents.
