Qualifications

• Holds a current TN teaching license in Special Education or Interventionist with appropriate endorsement codes (Required)
• Have a bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Proven track record of academic success as evident in TVAAS, state assessments, and value ad data. (Preferred)
• Hold the belief that all students can learn at high academic levels.
• Good communication and written skills required.

Responsibilities

• Employ special educational strategies and techniques during instruction to improve development of sensory– and perceptual–motor skills, language, cognition, and memory.
• Instruct students in academic subjects using phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to reinforce learning.
• Teach socially acceptable behavior by employing techniques in an overall positive behavioral support system.
• Modify the general education curriculum for students with disabilities based upon instructional techniques and technologies.
• Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time.
• Meet with parents to discuss progress and determine priorities for individualized educational needs.
