Michigan State University is seeking an Incident Response Analyst II to lead incident handling, vulnerability management, and threat analysis. This hybrid role requires at least two days on campus in East Lansing and interfaces with stakeholders across the university.

The position advances within incident response, including tooling, forensics, and malware analysis. MSU Information Technology supports strategic IT initiatives for the university and offers extensive benefits.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3–5 years of related IT/security experience.
• Experience in incident response and security operations.
• Experience with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, antivirus or endpoint protection.
• Scripting experience in Bash, Python or PowerShell is desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Incident Response & Investigation: main responder for severity 1 and 2 security events and evidence documentation.
• Threat Intelligence & Analysis: research threats against university technology and act on detections and mitigations.
• Provide eDiscovery and data preservation support for warrants, subpoenas, litigation holds, and FOIA requests.
• Advocate: coordinate with Security Operations, GRC, and other departments to implement detect and prevent measures.
• Legal Retention Support: execute and maintain legal holds per University direction.
