Job summary

Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking an Incident Response Analyst II to lead incident handling, vulnerability management, and threat analysis across the campus. The role interfaces with customers and stakeholders and offers a path toward specialization in incident response areas such as tooling, forensics, or malware analysis.

This hybrid position requires at least 2 days on campus and participates in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3–5 years of IT/security experience.
• Experience with security technologies such as IDS/IPS, firewalls, SIEM, antivirus or EPP.
• Knowledge of incident response, risk/compliance, or digital forensics.

Responsibilities

• Lead incident handling for severity 1 and 2 events and coordinate response.
• Perform threat intelligence and analysis to identify IOCs and mitigation options.
• Provide digital forensics support and preserve evidence for warrants, subpoenas, holds, and FOIA requests.
