Job summary

City of Loma Linda seeks an experienced Fire Captain to lead one fire suppression company. You will serve as shift commander, directing fire control, rescue, EMS, training and prevention activities while ensuring public safety and compliance with city codes.

The role requires strong incident command and supervisory skills, with duties including investigations, plan reviews, and public education outreach. A CA Fire Officer certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Education in Fire Science or equivalent.
• Four years of progressively responsible fire service experience including Engineer.
• California Fire Officer certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and supervise emergency operations as incident commander.
• Direct company operations including fire control, rescue, EMS, training, prevention, and investigations.
• Prepare reports and assist in code enforcement and public relations.
• Oversee equipment maintenance and supply; participate in staff selection and performance reviews.
