Qualifications

• Requires 7 years of fire service experience with 3+ years as supervisor at Company Officer level or higher.
• High school diploma or equivalent; plus Bachelor’s in Fire Science, etc., or Associate degree with Chief Fire Officer cert.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of an assigned shift including fire suppression, EMS, fire prevention, training, and other functions.
• Supervise, mentor, evaluate and discipline assigned personnel; participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Provide administrative and technical direction to ensure staffing, apparatus, and resources meet operational readiness.
• Respond to incidents as Incident Commander or command officer and set objectives per ICS.
• Maintain readiness through evaluation of personnel, apparatus, equipment, PPE, and facilities.
• Plan and evaluate Department training activities; address deficiencies with corrective action.
• Develop and maintain department and shift goals, policies, and procedures.
• Manage programs and projects; set priorities and ensure deadlines are met.
• Prepare reports and keep leadership informed of status and issues.
