Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two years of full-time fire suppression and prevention, incl. at least one year at the driver/operator level.
  • Licenses: Valid California driver's license with firefighter endorsement.
  • Certifications: EMT-I/EMT-B, Professional Rescuer CPR/AED, HazMat IC or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to fire, medical, rescue, and alarms; participate in response operations.
  • Direct tactical incident management and supervise crew until relieved.
  • Supervise shift personnel; schedule work and performance oversight.
  • Operate fire apparatus and equipment; maintain readiness.
  • Assist in fire suppression, EMS, rescue, life safety.
  • Conduct fire inspections and provide public education.
  • Assist training programs and drills; maintain records.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and laws; assist in investigations.
