Job summary

NEFCO Corp. in Ashland, VA seeks a Receiving Supervisor to lead a warehouse receiving team and ensure efficient material flow.

Reporting to the Receiving Manager, you will oversee daily crew routines, coordinate inbound shipments, control inventory, and enforce safety and training initiatives across the operation. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years in industrial warehousing/distribution operations
• Effective communicator up, down and across the organization
• High school diploma (or equivalent); college degree preferred
• Ability to use NEFCO’s ERP software system
• Ability to use warehouse layouts for planning purposes
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, or Outlook a plus
• Must have a positive, hard-working attitude
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently and with little supervision
• Ability to multitask
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to stand on concrete floor for long periods
• Must be able to work in various climate conditions
• Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl and twist for lifting
• Ability to safely lift up to 50+ lbs.
• Ability to review and interpret computer images and written documents
• Analytical ability including basic math skills
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and be recertified
• Must be detail-oriented and hands-on with aptitude for fast-paced environment
• Must have effective interpersonal skills with ability to direct, coach, support and delegate

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth and efficient receiving operations
• Oversee daily routines of assigned crew members
• Assist in developing receiving skills of staff
• Coordinate with Inbound/Inventory Manager to control inventory and minimize errors
• Ensure all inbound shipments are processed for delivery or storage
• Provide a motivating work environment with high performance standards
• Communicate policies and administer corrective action as needed
• Foster teamwork to achieve operational goals
• Accept responsibility for company projects related to responsibilities
• Work with distribution center staff to keep areas clean and orderly
• Complete NEFCO trainings and monitor training initiatives
• Assist in implementing new training and enhancing existing processes
• Maintain safe work practices throughout the operation
