Job summary

Central Transport is a trusted and technologically advanced LTL carrier with a nationwide terminal network. We seek an operations leader to oversee outbound dock operations, manage drivers, and ensure safe, efficient handling of palletized freight.

The ideal candidate has leadership experience in transportation, strong LTL knowledge, and the ability to mentor staff while working 50 hours per week, including nights and weekends. Competitive salary and benefits available.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team in transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience.
• Ability to hire, coach, and mentor employees.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week including nights/weekends.
• Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
• High aptitude for technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for designated terminal dock.
• This includes loading, forklift traffic, and overseeing palletized freight sorting.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Using independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight.
• Provide leadership to drivers and dock workers.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals.
• Maintain safety compliant with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Support adherence to company operational model.
