Job summary

Central Transport is seeking a seasoned terminal operations leader to oversee outbound operations for a designated dock section, managing up to 30 drivers and dock personnel to meet production targets. You will coordinate unloading, forklift traffic, and palletized freight handling while driving efficiency and safety in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in transportation operations, LTL knowledge, and experience in management, dispatch, and dock duties.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a team in transportation operations.
• Strong knowledge of the LTL trucking industry.
• Prior management, dispatch and dock experience required.
• Ability to hire, coach, counsel, train and mentor employees.
• Willingness to work 50 hours/week including nights/weekends.
• Bachelor's or Associate degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outbound operations for your designated section of the terminal dock.
• Unload, manage forklift traffic, and oversee proper picking/sorting of palletized freight.
• Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to meet production schedules.
• Use independent judgement to build loads based on labor and freight levels.
• Ensure proper loading of carriers by monitoring cube and trailer weight.
• Provide leadership and accountability to a team of drivers and dock staff.
• Monitor dock production and KPI goals; ensure safety compliance with DOT/OSHA standards.
• Maintain a safe work environment and support a culture of service excellence.
