Job summary

Expeditors in the United States (Illinois/Chicago area) is seeking a Domestic Operations associate to handle import file creation and workflow coordination. The role involves ensuring shipments have proper events, arranging appointments, and dispatching timely deliveries while following DLSOPS and compliance standards.

The ideal candidate will have 6 months to 1 year in domestic operations, strong communication skills, and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote).

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Chicagoland area.
• Six months to one year related experience in Domestic operations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• A proven history of providing exceptional customer service at all levels.
• Excellent organizational skills, time management skills in addition to a professional attitude.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Responsibilities

• Create Import files and manage DDL workflow to ensure shipments have proper events.
• Coordinate appointments for shipments needing them and update statuses.
• Dispatch shipments timely based on arrival and appointments.
• Monitor GPS loads, ensure paperwork, seals and GPS units are assigned.
• Adhere to DLSOPS procedures and escalate when necessary.
• Promote compliance with company policies and KPIs; complete 52 hours of training yearly.
