Job summary

Clora is seeking a Research Associate for a ~6-month, onsite role in Cambridge, MA. The position involves conducting in vivo pharmacology studies in rodent models, histology and imaging, and molecular biology to generate high-quality biodistribution and target engagement data.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology or related field, rodent surgical experience, hands-on histology, and experience with multiplex IHC/IF and image analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Cell Biology or related field with 1+ years of laboratory experience.
• Rodent surgical experience, specifically stereotactic/ICV drug delivery to mouse brain.
• Strong hands-on experience in histology, including embedding, sectioning, staining, IHC/IF, and imaging.
• Authorship on a peer reviewed publication.
• Experience with multiplex IHC/IF and advanced image analysis platforms.

Responsibilities

• In Vivo Pharmacology - conduct in vivo studies in rodent models with peripheral administration and CNS delivery methods.
• Conduct terminal procedures, including animal takedowns, blood collection, and necropsies.
• Perform tissue harvesting and dissection for downstream analyses.
• Histology & Imaging - prepare, embed, and section tissues using microtome, vibratome, or cryostat (FFPE or fresh-frozen).
• Perform IHC/IF on tissue sections and acquire high-quality images with fluorescence/confocal systems.
• Conduct in vivo and ex vivo fluorescence and bioluminescence imaging using small-animal imaging systems and analyze distribution.
• Perform quantitative image analysis using ImageJ, QuPath, Halo or equivalent.
