Job summary

San Diego, United States – Zohorecruit is seeking a scientist to design and execute experiments for the formulation and characterization of nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems. The role covers early-stage development, analytical method creation, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Strong hands-on experience with HPLC/UPLC, plate-based assays, and nanoparticle analytics is required, with emphasis on data-driven reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or closely related disciplines.
• Experience with HPLC/UPLC methods and small molecule/nucleic acid/protein analysis.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD with increasing years of relevant work as described.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement experiments for formulation and characterization of polymeric, liposomal and other nanoparticles for in vivo delivery.
• Lead and participate in early-stage nanoparticle formulation development for targeted therapies.
• Document work with scientific writing and maintain accurate records.
• Assess and develop nanoparticle formulation activities and analytical methods.
• Develop methods to analyze drug product formulations and components.
• Apply age-appropriate analytical techniques for small molecules, nucleic acids, proteins, lipids, and polymers.
• Engage in cell-based assays and related readouts as needed.
• Characterize nanoparticles physically, including particle sizing, where applicable.
• Familiarize with lab-scale nanoparticle prep, including microfluidics techniques.
• Work with automated liquid handling systems when relevant.
• Collaborate across teams and communicate results clearly.
