Job summary

General Motors in the United States is seeking Hardware Design Engineers to support SDV Aggregator & Extender modules, contributing to production‑intent hardware and next‑gen vehicle electrical architecture.

You will collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams, lead schematic development, and help optimize 12V power, Ethernet, and memory interfaces across multi‑hub engineering sites in Detroit and San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Experience creating digital/analog HW interfaces including schematic creation and/or PCB layout.
• Minimum 1 year working experience in automotive hardware electronics design.
• Familiar with Siemens Xpedition tool set for schematic and layout.

Responsibilities

• Support a team of electrical hardware designers with direction and tasks.
• Collaborate with software, mechanical, and manufacturing teams for integration.
• Contribute to embedded designs for module architectures.
• Lead or support IC design/development strategies for in‑vehicle architectures.
• Lead electrical schematic development and support PCB layout.
• Assess feasibility of designs considering cost, performance, reliability, timing, manufacturability.
• Support 12V power electronics, Gigabit ethernet, processors and memory designs.
• Perform electrical worst‑case calculations on circuit and system levels.
• Represent GM HW team as a design expert in core technologies.
• Lead 5-point tests and end-of-line production test readiness.
