Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Ethernet Systems Engineering team. You will develop network validation, scripts, and automation to improve robustness of the in-vehicle Ethernet network supporting GM’s Software-Defined Vehicle architecture.

You will work with physical and virtual test assets, including single-device benches, multi-controller models, and end-to-end network verification benches, focusing on functional and temporal evaluation and cross-collaboration

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems/Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Three+ years of experience developing software and validating networks using Python, Rust or C++.
• Knowledge of automotive Ethernet technologies, SOME/IP, and TCP/IP.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Deploy test automation across physical and virtual test assets, from single-controller benches to full network benches.
• Develop solutions for assessing temporal behavior and latency measurements on network models and physical benches.
• Integrate software builds and design artifacts with network test infrastructure to improve end-to-end health assessment and CI/CD pipelines.
