Michaels in Pitt-Coraopolis, PA is hiring an Event Coordinator to plan and run kid-friendly events and crafts in-store. You will engage customers, guide participants through activities, and manage event details with the store team.

The role requires energetic and people-focused individuals with experience in customer service and events. The position involves standing, movement around the store, and some evenings/weekends based on store needs.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Excellent people and communication skills are essential.
• Experience planning or running children’s events is preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem solving abilities.
• Retail or customer service experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once (children’s parties, craft classes).
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and guide participants through craft projects; perform face painting when needed.
• Coordinate party add-ons like goody bags and balloons per company standards.
• Communicate events with clients and store team members; handle inquiries by email/phone.
• Complete administrative tasks and paperwork as needed; manage planning details.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback; develop backup/ emergency plans.
• Aim for high client satisfaction and maintain store cleanliness and safety.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling and production; participate in daily cleanliness tasks.
