Job summary

Michaels in Kenosha is seeking a part-time Party & Event Host to plan, coordinate, and facilitate events inside the store, including children’s birthdays. You will provide friendly customer service, assist shoppers, and help with checkout processes while upholding store standards.

You will engage guests of all ages, manage event logistics, perform activities like face painting, and handle follow-up communications. The role requires flexibility, strong people skills, and a passion for creativity.

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with children and children’s events.
• Excellent people skills and ability to engage guests of all ages.
• Strong communication, written and verbal, and listening abilities.
• Organizational skills, teamwork, and creative problem solving.
• Retail or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s parties and craft classes.
• Engage with clients of all ages and create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate and instruct party activities; perform face painting and other activities as needed.
• Coordinate add-ons like goody bags or balloons per company standards.
• Handle emails, calls, and paperwork; communicate events to clients and store team.
• Adjust plans based on client feedback and create backup plans.
• Ensure client satisfaction and maintain store cleanliness and safety during events.
• Set up, run, and break down events; participate in stock and safety procedures.
