Job summary

Michaels in Bel Air, MD is seeking a Merchandise Manager to drive merchandising and operational execution across truck processing, inventory routines, planogram sets and visual standards.

You will ensure accurate pricing, timely promotional execution and a customer-ready store environment, lead workload planning with store leadership, manage in-stock levels and store-from-store fulfillment. The role requires 3+ years retail leadership experience and physical stamina for daily store tasks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years retail leadership experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift 25–50 pounds, and perform physical store tasks.
• Proven ability to manage SOPs, pricing accuracy, and promotional execution.

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in leading SOPs and Company programs to ensure compliance with laws and requirements.
• Ensure execution of policies and standards, holding team accountable for store conditions and results.
• Provide Manager-on-Duty coverage, maintaining floor leadership, service standards, and operational continuity.
• Lead truck execution, unloading, sorting, and flow of merchandise to the sales floor.
• Own workload planning and daily task prioritization, aligning staffing with business needs.
• Execute Store-In-Stock Optimization routines to drive in-stock levels and replenishment accuracy.
• Oversee Planogram execution to ensure merchandising sets are accurate and on schedule.
• Establish and maintain visual merchandising standards, including product placement.
• Support a clean, organized, customer-ready environment and backroom organization.
• Manage inventory control, ensuring product accuracy and efficient stock movement.
• Execute ad sets with compliant signage and product placement.
• Complete price changes accurately and timely across floor and systems.
• Oversee Ship from Store fulfillment processes and accuracy.
• Process RTVs and ASN receiving with proper inventory adjustments.
• Manage store damages procedures, reporting and shrink reduction.
• Train, coach, and develop team members through onboarding and ongoing skills training.
• Partner in maintaining Asset Protection practices to reduce shrink.
