Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service, meeting with customers to understand needs and build a creative concept reflecting style, lifestyle, and budget.

Design consultants schedule appointments, advise on flooring products, and collaborate with store leadership to drive sales and client satisfaction. Opportunities for growth and industry exposure are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematical skills.
• Self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-in needs.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele via networking and referrals.
• Advise on tile, wood, stone and accessories for residential/commercial projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically pleasing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with accuracy, timeliness and follow-up.
• Use company communication tools and emails consistently.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives by modeling best practices with staff.
• Stay current on design trends in the market.
• Understand and use design applications (Salesforce, Online Design Scheduler, MyProject).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
