Job summary

Floor & Decor Designers provide a seamless start-to-finish consultative design service, building lasting relationships and brand loyalty with customers. They meet with clients, understand project needs, educate on requirements, and develop concepts that reflect personal style, lifestyle, and budget.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, scheduling appointments, advising on flooring products, and selling complete design solutions while collaborating with store leadership to achieve sales

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year interior design or retail/sales experience.
• Design degree is a plus.
• Knowledge of hard surface flooring is a plus.
• Proficient in basic mathematics.
• Must be self-motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office suite.
• Internal candidates must have 12 months of experience in a design consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Greet store customers and support design walk-ins.
• Schedule design appointments and develop clientele.
• Provide tile, wood, stone and accessories advice for projects.
• Design and sell complete, functional, aesthetically appealing solutions.
• Manage multiple projects with clear communication and follow-up.
• Collaborate with store leadership to manage projects from inquiry to installation.
• Support company initiatives and stay current on design trends.
• Utilize design applications such as Salesforce and MyProject.
