Responsibilities

• The In School Suspension Teacher shall establish high standards and expectations for student behavior.
• Supervise students during detention and enforce rules consistently.
• Inform students of rules and expectations.
• Maintain a quiet, attentive classroom environment.
• Collaborate with administration on behavior strategies.
• Assist students with homework or instructional tasks.
• Keep accurate attendance and behavior records for report submission.
• Engage students with differentiated learning activities.
• Control pacing and manage class time effectively.
• Use clear presentation and instructional language.
• Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues in writing and speech.
• Foster a nurturing classroom climate and positive reinforcement.
• Discipline students using approved procedures.
• Seek parental and administrative guidance when needed.
• Establish professional rapport with students and staff.
• Monitor and assist with small group counseling and interventions.
